The Real Ghostbusters is one of American animated television series which based on the movie Ghostbusters 1984. In 1986 to 1991 the series ran, and was produced by Columbia Pictures Television, DIC Entertainment Coca-Cola. "The Real" was added to the title, this is done after occur a dispute with Filmation and the Ghost Busters property.

There also were two ongoing Real Ghostbusters comics, one comic published monthly by Now Comics in the USA and the other is published weekly (initially two weekly). This is done by Marvel Comics in the UK, and the popular toy line produced by Kenner (toyline lasted longer than the television series itself).
